Author Guidelines

1.1 Scope and Editorial Policy

International Journal of Business Operations and Management Studies publishes rigorous, peer-reviewed, original research that advances the fields of business operations, supply chain management, organizational behaviour, strategic management, and decision sciences. The journal welcomes empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, systematic literature reviews, and high-quality case studies.

Submissions must be original work not previously published or concurrently under consideration by any other journal or conference proceedings.

1.2 Manuscript Preparation Standards

To ensure a seamless peer-review process, manuscripts must conform to the following technical and stylistic requirements:

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct British English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to seek professional editing services prior to submission.

  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Typography: Use a standard font (such as Times New Roman or Arial), 12-point size, with double line spacing and 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides. Continuous line numbers must be enabled throughout the document to facilitate reviewer commentary.

  • Length: Regular research articles should typically span between 6,000 and 9,000 words, including references, tables, and figure captions.

1.3 Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must be structured in accordance with conventional academic frameworks:

  1. Title Page (Submitted as a separate file to ensure anonymous review):

    • Full descriptive title (concise, avoiding acronyms).

    • Full names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID iDs of all authors.

    • Designation of the corresponding author with an institutional email address.

  2. Blinded Manuscript (Main File):

    • Title: Identical to the title page, without author details.

    • Abstract: A structured abstract of 150–250 words outlining the Purpose, Design/Methodology/Approach, Findings, Research Limitations/Implications, and Originality/Value.

    • Keywords: 4 to 6 specific keywords for indexing purposes.

    • Main Text: Typically organized into Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.

  3. References: Journal strictly utilizes the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition referencing style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry, and vice versa. Where available, Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) must be appended to the references as active URLs.

1.4 Figures and Tables

  • Tables must be embedded within the text near their first mention, formatted as editable Word tables (not as images).

  • Figures must be high-resolution (minimum 300 DPI) and embedded within the manuscript.

  • Each table and figure must be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and accompanied by a concise, self-explanatory title.
